This past Saturday, we had Tyler's first birthday party with the whole family. We started the party with a small worship service (held in our gameroom/church room), where we dedicated Tyler to the Lord. We took advantage that both Jason's dad and my dad were here. Jason's dad shared a short message while my dad prayed a blessing over Tyler. The Bible verse that Jason's dad chose for Tyler is from Numbers 14:24,
"But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows meThe reason the verse was chosen is because Tyler's middle name and also his Chinese name is Caleb.
wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants
will inherit it."
We had lots of fun, lots of food and lots of laughter. All in all, it was a very happy event. Tyler had no idea what was going on, but he still had fun. :) Here are some pictures of the event. Now, we're just waiting for his second first birthday party this Saturday with friends and neighbors.
